Watsa is a town in the Haut-Uele Province of Congo. It's peacefulness deep in the jungle is often disrupted by rebels, including the Lord's Resistance Army that caused more than 30,000 individuals to be displaced from Watsa and nearby villages in 2011. Government security forces have maintained a weak resistance to such incursions, often leaving villagers to their own fates.
